You are Challenged!

Fairytales from BlueTerracota by Vilte

The Artisans Gallery Team has been challenged by team leader OneClayBead to make treasuries from a list of volunteer members/participants via our flickr forum.  We want to share with you our treasuries, especially the ones that are in this challenge and have made front page!  Above is the first treasury to hit front page last Friday.   To see an ongoing list of front page treasuries visit our static page which is listed on the sidebar.  To see all of our treasuries made with and by AGTeam Members click the treasury link right below the flickr slideshow.  We hope you enjoy these 'dedicated' treasuries made by and for our team members, it's a great way to see the diversity of work created by our team members!

National Honey Bee Day

Wishing you a very happy and festive National Honey Bee Day from all the members of the Artisan Gallery Team.

In June a few of us teamed together to create beautifully hand made items celebrating the honey bee and participated in a Bee Up: Blog it Forward project. The honey bee, like Artisan Gallery Team members are part of a unified hive, we mindfully gather our materials to bring you handmade elixirs for all your senses to enjoy. From the visual realm of our artists; the tactile of those working with fiber, metal and clay; the aromas of bath and beauty; the taste of artisan foods and the sounds of clicking wind chimes and music.

Feed your soul, nourish all your senses with the handmade goodness by visiting the team page with links to our shops, our Flickr group and/or our Facebook Fan Page.

In the cold light of day by JK Photography

article by Paula of PaulaArt

About this work:

This is another image for my new section in my shop, which is called "Food for Thought". There is always a part of me wandering in wonderland, pondering and dreaming.

I'm combining both analogue and digital techniques in this section, to feed my endless curiosity for textures and colors and all that nature gives us for free, it's beauty.
I use ink on negatives, scanning them as a positive film, layering them into compositions which become starting points to ponder.

The negative from this photo was scanned in a high resolution and than printed on Hahnemuhle archival fine art paper with a matte, textured finish, with ultrachrome epson archival ink.

The image is centered on the paper and measures 17 x 25 cm. Which is appr. 6,7 x 9,9 inches on a A4 paper of 21 x 30 cm or 8,2 x 11,8 inches, leaving a white border for framing.

The print is signed and dated on the front.
