Travel Tuesday in Montreal

For today's Travel Tuesday we will make our way over to Montreal, Canada and visit with the lovely Marie of Markhed!

A little introduction to Marie and her work

My name is Marie Khediguian and my shop name is Markhed. I would describe my work as dark, sexy and edgy sterling silver jewelry.

Please give us a description of the area where you live, the places you frequent and whether or not your environment plays a part in the designs of your work.

I live in Montreal, Canada and there are so many things that inspire me here! There is a grungy, industrial side of Montreal which inspires me in my jewelry. I love the combination of the beautiful european style of Montreals streets contrasting with its industrial style of its back streets. I love playing with contrasts in my work too.

What do you love about where you live?

I love Montreal because it's also very multicultural. When you walk down the streets its not unusual to hear many different languages and people of all different cultures talking with each other.

Thank you so much, Marie! It's been a pleasure to see a small piece of where you call home.

Marie of Markhed is one of my favorite jewelers and it is a treat to read about where she lives. I can see the city in her work.
