The Artisan Wedding Challenge

article by Lee of OneClayBead

Lace cuff by TwoKnit, wedding gown by Vilte, wedding favors by Campo di Fiore, bridal jewelry by Veroque.

We are having our first ArtisansGalleryTeam challenge! Contact person: Sharon of KnotOriginal. Naturally we want to do it with creativity and originality, and have chosen the timely theme of The Artisan Wedding. We have 7 categories, and will feature one a day on our blog, starting March 22:
*******************************
Artisan Wedding Gifts under $100

Artisan Wedding Statement Gifts

Artisan Wedding Favors

Artisan Wedding Decor and Stationary

Artisan Bride and Groom

Artisan Gifts for the Bridesmaids

Artisan Children
******************************
The challenge is to offer new and exciting possibilities for weddings. Think outside the traditional box! If you’ve never designed a wedding favor or bridal jewelry or cake topper or even considered it before, now is the time! Weddings are becoming more about personal style and brides are looking for handmade works that reflect their individuality and values. Let’s be leaders in these trends!

Each day, starting March 22, a new collection will be posted on our blog by Pey (of peylu) and Annette (of dragonhouseyuen). Stay tuned to see the entries by our talented team.

Are you up to the Challenge?

I'm working on pieces that use birds and doves- images I've been working with for a few years. My wedding Challenge pieces will be making things specifically as wedding favors, cake toppers, and decor. Although doves aren't way outside the traditional box, I'm looking forward to seeing some things that are!

I have a few limited edition prints ready to go - they'd make great bridesmaid & groom long lasting gifts.

It's a great idea to challenge the team!

I'm excited about this...thinking of bridesmaids' gifts; outdoor weddings would surely include insects, some uninvited. Yes, I'm going with the insect theme!

Love this. Weddings are new beginning and it's a perfect theme for the first challenge. I've already tagged some items and will make a special necklace for it.
Thanks!

What beautiful pieces you have selected. I have a beautiful Hand Embroidered cuff that would look beautiful on the bride and become a lovely heirloom to pass down.

I have made OOAK bridal and attendant bags from vintage obi and kimono. The fabric is antique (something old) the handbag (something new). All the fabrics are recycled using the magnificent hand embroidered, hand sewn and hand painted OOAK fabric to then create a special bag than no one else in the world will have. It's such s special day and now you have an item that blends perfectly with the sentiments of the day. These can be found at Shamarjewels.etsy.com
